Lancashire wins 400k lottery boost

Youth Work
Lancashire Youth Association has been awarded 400,000 from the Big Lottery Fund to support staff across the county.

The five-year grant will go towards its LevelUp programme, which helps front-line voluntary and community youth groups in their work with young people.

Specialist youth support services available through LevelUp will include organisational planning and fundraising, provision of youth work qualifications to volunteers and the development of quality standards.

"This funding will allow us to build the capacity of existing groups, improve outcomes for young people and give them an opportunity to get engaged in public service delivery," said a spokesman. "The application process for these funds, which took over 12 months to complete, was rigorous."

The organisation will work in partnership with a range of stakeholders including members of the newly formed Lancashire Voluntary Community Faith Sector Consortium.
