Scotland: Projects win 1.4m boost from lottery

Youth projects across Scotland are sharing a 1.4m grant from the Big Lottery Fund. The cash has been split between 11 youth projects including a sport activities programme for disabled young people and a youth radio station.

Operation Reclaim 5 Star, a sporting programme designed to tackleantisocial behaviour and race-related crimes in the north of Glasgow,received 457,000.

The project is run by Strathclyde Police and will work in partnershipwith young people from diverse backgrounds in areas with violent crimeand poor community relations.
