Kensington tries out Trisha debate

1 min read Youth Work
Young people have taken part in a Trisha-style debate to give their views on youth services in Kensington and Chelsea.

The London borough's youth service held Your Voice Matters to hear the views of young people in the Golborne ward.

The event involved a chat show-style format where a scenario was set and young people had to say what they thought the protagonists should do and what services were available to help them. Situations included a young girl being told to get a job or be made to leave home.

There was also a discussion on how services such as the youth service, police and voluntary services could be improved.

Tunde Olayinka, youth service co-ordinator for Golborne, said the aim was to take young people's views on board and not just pretend to listen.
