This book for foster carers and others in the foster care field aims toprovide a no-nonsense guide to two sets of Government standards - theNational Minimum Standards and the UK National Standards.

It explains what the two standards mean for those in the sector,covering issues ranging from fostering panels and carer recruitment towhistle-blowing and confidentiality.

This Key Stage 2 education resource is designed to help promote "activecitizenship" among nine- to 11-year-olds. The resource has already beentested in 300 primary schools and consists of 10 lesson plans designedto encourage children to consider the consequences of their actions.Issues looked at in the lessons, which are aimed at anyone working withthe target age group, include looking after animals and the role of thepolice.
