Joining Up conference: The shape of things to come

The central role that children's trusts will play in integrating services for young people is top of the agenda at Young People Now's Joining Up conference in June. Charlotte Goddard takes a look at the main themes.

All organisations that are delivering services to young people will be anxious to learn from these trailblazing areas, especially as not every pilot is using the same model, or drawing together the same agencies and service providers.

Kevin Williams, chief executive of YMCA England, believes that it is so important to learn from the experiences of the pilot trusts that the Government should hold off on national implementation until the schemes have run their course. "YMCA England is concerned by recent comments from the Government that suggest that it will not wait for the full evaluations before moving through to national implementation," he says.
