The event was part of the Dare to Care campaign to end child poverty, and the aim was to show the role volunteers can play in widening the experiences of children. A team of six CSV volunteers helped the pupils travel to and from the pond and helped run the activities, which included bluebell bulb planting and a survey of local wildlife. Dare to Care encourages individuals and charities to give their time to help improve the quality of life of children, young people and families who may be experiencing poverty or deprivation.
