Cultural creativity: Nursery gets a taste of local culture

Children and staff from Wheelhouse Neighbourhood Nursery in Deptford enjoy a multi-cultural event run by Sure Start Evelyn in Lewisham, south London. They witnessed performances including steel drumming from members of the Riverside Youth Club, traditional Vietnamese dance, rap, Irish dancing and a belly dancer.

Children from the nursery also sang and danced to a spring-time theme. Lewisham mayor Steve Bullock, who attended the event, said it highlighted the "tremendous cultural mix" of the borough's population, "reminding us of the creativity that is all around us".
