Morgan Jamieson, Scotland's clinical lead for children and young people's health.

Morgan Jamieson will have his work cut out for him when he starts as Scotland's first children's health champion next month.

Aside from tackling the high rates of smoking, alcohol consumption and teenage pregnancy among the country's young people and driving the development of Scotland's Action Framework for Children and Young People, he will also continue in his current job as medical director at Scotland's largest children's hospital, Yorkhill Trust in Glasgow.

The post, as the country's national clinical lead for children and young people's health, is a secondment, and Jamieson, a paediatric heart surgeon, will do the job for two days a week.
