East Sussex County Council is to launch a pilot of its information-sharing system, which it has been developing with West Sussex, within the next fortnight. It has begun introducing youth service staff to the scheme.
Alison Jeffrey, assistant director of children's services at East Sussex Council, said: "It will help workers identify services and who they should contact.
"The training will establish the protocol for maintaining a young person's confidentiality and explain the circumstances when child-protection laws override data protection and confidentiality requirements."
Staff from social services, education and the health service have also received training.
