Hilary Armstrong, the minister for social exclusion at the Cabinet Office, is chairing a cabinet committee on data sharing, and told Young People Now she is interested in exploring some of the information-sharing ideas from Every Child Matters.
Armstrong is also looking at the Social Exclusion Unit's Transitions report on working with troubled young adults, and how this work can be taken forward.
"Data sharing is very much part of that," she said. "There is a good model coming out of the Every Child Matters agenda, and we can use that in Transitions and in the adult field."
Armstrong said it was not yet clear who is now responsible for overseeing the implementation of Transitions. "We are still discussing all of that in terms of every bit of detail," she said.
