Project: Torbay Youth Inclusion Programme Mission: To divert young people from crime and antisocial behaviour Funding: 200,000 over two years, from the Youth Justice Board
Torbay Youth Inclusion Programme (YIP) recently ran a week of activities for the young people it works with, to coincide with the half-term holiday.
The week included taking on an assault course, quad biking, horse riding, archery, and problem solving.
The idea is to give the group of 13- to 17-year-olds who work with the YIP something to do during the holidays, and is part of its wider programme, which lasts a year.
Torbay YIP, in common with those in other parts of the country, works with a core group of young people who have either offended, or are deemed to be at risk of involvement in crime.
