1 min read
A new out-of-school club opened at Waingroves Primary School in Ripley, Derbyshire, at the end of last month. Children can enjoy play, crafts and sports at the breakfast and after school club based in the school hall.

Childminders were the first to move in to the new East Riding Children's Centre in Beverley. The centre, which will have its official opening next year, also plans to host health clinics, training for parents and a dads' group.

Building work is under way on two new children's centres in Somerset - one in Coleford and one in Ilchester. The centres will contribute to the county council's aims of creating 33 centres by March 2008.

A teacher has stepped in to save a breakfast and after-school club in Tring, Hertfordshire, which was threatened with closure. The club, in the grounds of Dundale Primary School, will be refurbished and relaunched as the Children Planet Club.
