In Practice: Up & running - Airy Hill gets revamp

Children who attend an after-school club at Airy Hill School, Whitby, celebrated the completion of a major revamp of its premises.

The Endeavour Fun Club for four- to 13-year-olds is based in a former caretaker's cottage and now has a new entrance, kitchen, and brighter playroom.

Baby massage and father-and-child storytelling sessions are among the services available at a new children's centre based at Up Hatherley Library in Gloucestershire.

Plans to build a children's centre on the site of Barwick and Stoford Community Primary School in Dorset have been approved. The centre will offer outreach services via a specially adapted bus.

Children dressed up as pirates for a fancy dress competition, one of the fun activities that took place at the launch of Looe Children's Centre in Devon last month. The centre is based in a former church hall.
