Monotony is not a problem at the Sunderland Children's Centres' Dads and Kids Club. Recent activities have ranged from cookery classes to PC maintenance and scarecrow making.

The club, which holds weekly sessions at all of the city's five children's centres, is intended to provide a friendly and relaxed space for fathers and male carers to spend more time with their children. Although attendance varies, as working dads might not make it every week, on average between eight and 10 dads come to each session.
