South Chadderton's partnership with sexual health charity Brook sprangout of concern for a particular group of girls who were puttingthemselves at risk, explains Christine Symington, full service extendedschool manager.
However, it has since had a significant impact on the whole school.
Brook education outreach workers began by running workshops coveringissues like contraception and sexually transmitted infections. Girlsthen trained after school to be peer educators, enabling them to grow inconfidence as well as helping others by supporting drop-in sessions andtaking part in lessons for younger pupils.
