Make it Sound

Make it Sound is run by charity Youth Music and supports music-making projects for children and young people aged five to 18 (or 25 for those with special educational needs). Grants of £10,000 to £30,000 are on offer to schemes that run for six to 18 months and mainly operate outside school hours. Projects must include structured music-making activities that develop skills in composition, song-writing or improvisation. Schemes can feature any type of music but the charity is keen to fund less familiar styles. Eligible organisations include council departments, groups of schools and music organisations. Grants are not open to individual schools. The deadline is 15 December.
