Lewisham has increased the percentage of looked-after children remaining in stable placements at a faster rate than the national average.

2006 Lewisham 53.3% England 63.6%

2007 Lewisham 53.9% England 64.4%

2008 Lewisham 59.9% England 65.3%

2009 Lewisham 74.3% England 67%

Lewisham has increased the percentage of looked-after children remaining in stable placements at a faster rate than the national average.

In 2005 just 50.6 per cent of looked-after children were continuing in the same placement for at least two years, falling behind the national average of 62.9 per cent. But the most recent figures show that in the year ending 31 March 2009, 74.3 per cent of children in care had benefited from a stable placement.
