Purpose To tackle a shortage of foster carers across the North West
Funding Launched with a £143,000 grant from the North West Improvement and
Efficiency Partnership in 2010, with a further £140,000 contributed by the 23 councils over the course of two years
Background Twenty-three local authorities in the North West joined forces to tackle foster care shortages and make the process more efficient and cost-effective.
Action By working together, the councils were able to pay for a high-quality advertising campaign including TV and radio adverts. The campaign focused firmly on carers and set out to smash myths and misconceptions.
