Drive to recruit more foster carers

Social Care
A campaign is being devised by the Fostering Network to encourage more people to become foster carers.

As part of the research for the campaign, the network will consult with services across England to ensure it will meet the needs of fostering services and target specific shortages.

Helen Clarke, campaign manager at the Fostering Network, said: "Foster care is changing and this campaign must reflect the new realities facing the fostering sector and help services to find the next generation of foster carers."

The campaign, which is funded by the Children's Workforce Development Council, will be launched during Foster Care Fortnight, which runs from 12 to 25 May 2008.
