Project
Achievement for All
Funding
£6m from September 2014 to July 2015, including £5m for the schools programme, met from a combination of Department for Education funding, fees from participating schools of around £200 per pupil per year, and other grants
Background
Achievement for All started life in September 2009 as a two-year pilot in 10 local authority areas.
It was initiated by the then Department for Children, Schools and Families, in response to an inquiry into special educational needs and parental confidence by Special Educational Consortium chair Brian Lamb.
An independent charity was formed in May 2011 to expand the pilot's work in transforming outcomes for the lowest-achieving 20 per cent of pupils. The programme now operates in more than 3,000 schools, colleges and early years settings across England and Wales.
