During 2011-2016, PwC led an independent evaluation report investigating the work carried out by Achievement for All in improving the educational outcomes of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged pupils in school. The report recognises the charity's Achieving Schools programme as a proven way to create better life chances for children and young people and provide a solution to break intergenerational poverty.
Achieving Schools is a two-year whole-school improvement framework aimed at helping the one in five children falling behind at school. The programme is delivered directly into schools by Achievement for All coaches.
The coach works in partnership with the school to identify a target group of pupils in need of the most support. They then develop an action plan to ensure these pupils achieve the very best that they can, regardless of their background, any challenges they may face, or needs they may have. Achieving Schools can then be embedded into school life and utilised to benefit every child and improve parental engagement - a key factor in improving pupil progress.
