Housing: Commissioner calls for more trust links

Speaking at a Chartered Institute of Housing conference last week, Graham Hasting-Evans, interim chief executive of the Office of the Children's Commissioner, said: "Local authorities in many places are ripping children's services out of social services and sticking it with education, but where does housing fit into this? There is a culture at the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister that sees housing as an adult issue only." Hasting-Evans said the commissioner would be addressing the issue within the next few months.
