Homelessness: Safe in the City was good for the young

An evaluation of the Safe in the City project, run by youth homelessness charity Centrepoint and the Peabody Trust until its funding ended this March, found young people believe it helped them avoid homelessness.

The scheme helped support 12,000 13- to 18-year-olds in London during its six years of operation, using an early intervention, multi-agency approach.

The evaluation, carried out by the National Centre for Social Research and the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, said young people felt valued thanks to the close key-worker relationships.
