Heritage: Youth groups plan activities for D-day

The Imperial War Museum is taking 17 young people to Normandy to join the commemorations, while Air Cadet branches will hold various local events.

Sam Heywood, head of corporate education programmes at the war museum, said:"The group will go across to Normandy with the veterans on the Royal British Legion's cruise ship and will get to hear about their experiences and feelings."

Young Roots heritage project Spitfires Over Eastleigh is planning to take young people to a D-day airshow to make a film.
