Heritage: War museum opens youth group contest

1 min read

The trips, timed to coincide with the anniversary of key Second World War events, will include visits to destinations such as Canada, Japan, New Zealand, Thailand and the US.

To enter the competition, which is open to those working with 14- to 18-year-olds, youth workers have to devise an educational activity for their group as part of a visit. Schools can enter.

The competition is part of Their Past, Your Future - a 10m, 15-month programme run by The Imperial War Museum and funded by the Big Lottery Fund.

Daniell Phillips, education project manager of Their Past, Your Future, said: "The benefits of these trips cover behaviour, attitude and self-esteem."
