Nasen, formerly the National Association for Special Educational Needs, promotes the development of children and young people with special educational needs and supports the people who work with them.

It has more than 50 branches in the UK giving parents, teachers,governors and other professionals access to information and specialneeds provision and practice. It also has an influential nationalvoice.

The organisation offers a wide range of training courses andpublications including the thrice-yearly Special! magazine andprofessional journals including the British Journal of SpecialEducation, Support for Learning and the online Journal of Research inSpecial Educational Needs. Its website has information on topicalissues, consultations and policy developments, and details of how tobecome a Nasen member. Membership includes access to an online researchdatabase.
