The moves comes as the hospital, which is to become a foundation trust,launches a three-month public consultation in preparation for thechange.
Its new status will give the hospital more flexibility with its planningand finances, and also encourage it to seek more participation frompatients and their families.
Stephen Cox, spokesman for the hospital, said the booklet would fosteran "open ended" discussion with children, which would help staff to findout what children wanted as well as focusing on questions the hospitalwanted answered.
He added that although the hospital had done well at talking to familiesabout clinical issues, it needed to work harder at involving them in thedesign of services.
