Health News: Nursing - Scottish roles may restrict UK work

Health visitors and school nurses will not be able to work across the UK if plans to merge nursing roles go ahead, delegates warned Scotland's chief nursing officer.

Under plans to be signed off by Scotland's health minister Andy Kerr'school nurses, health visitors and district nurses will be merged into asingle role (Children Now, 2-15 August). But at a session attended bythe UK's chief nursing officers, delegates said the model would meanScottish nurses could not work in the rest of the UK - and vice-versa.
