The nine-month study will monitor the patterns of paediatric nurseprescribing in order to pick up any changes in referrals to pharmacistsand doctors.
Participants will be quizzed on their prescribing habits three, six andnine months after completing the extended and supplementary prescribingcourse.
The news follows proposals by the Department of Health to increase andextend the range of nurse prescribing, which was welcomed by experts ashelping to speed up treatment for children (Children Now, 1-7 March).
