32.8 conceptions per 1,000 girls aged 15 to 17 in 2003 (42.1 inEngland)

- 37.5 conceptions per 1,000 girls aged 15 to 17 in 1998 (46.6 inEngland)

- 1.28 average number of decayed, missing or filled teeth in 14-year-oldchildren (1.43 in England)

- 6.2% of live births weighed less than 2,500 grams in 2002 (7.7 percent in England)

The Suffolk Strategic Partnership Plan in July 2002 agreed to try andreduce the teenage conception rate to 26.2 per 1,000 15- to 17-year-oldsby 2005. Suffolk West Primary Care Trust is also aiming to reduce theaverage rate for the worst 20 per cent of wards from 46.7 to 43.3.
