Amanda Davies, head of primary care at Newport Local Health Board, said the board has produced a local oral health action plan, which includes an oral health promotion policy. This targets specific preventive measures for mothers and very young children residing in deprived areas. It ensures children have access to dental services and provides support for an integrated oral health policy in collaboration with other boards and the Welsh Assembly.
