78% of children aged under two had MMR vaccination in Oct-Dec 2003 (81.8 per cent in England)

- 70% of children aged under two had MMR vaccination in Jan-March 2004 (81 per cent in England)

- 49.1 conceptions per 1,000 girls aged 15-17 in 1998 (47 in England)

- 39.1 conceptions per 1,000 girls aged 15-17 in 2002 (42.6 in England)

Low MMR uptake has been tackled by project groups established in 2003 for east and west Dorset and led by MMR project workers. Work was done to identify practices with the highest and lowest uptake of vaccinations against their child populations and to disseminate messages from the best performing practices. Conferences on the MMR vaccine were also held.
