Since 1998 the teenage conception rate in Tameside, near Manchester, has increased by 11.4 per cent compared to a fall of 11.8 per cent across England. The teenage pregnancy rate in Shropshire fell by 23.5 per cent over the period and the rate on the Isle of Wight saw a drop of 5.7 per cent.
