Bristol: 51.4 conceptions per 1,000 girls aged 15 to 17 in 2005 (41.1 in England)
Since 1998 the teenage conception rate in York has gone up by 24.2 per cent, compared to a decrease of 25.3 per cent in Bedfordshire. In Bristol there has been a drop of 0.8 per cent in the number of girls becoming pregnant. Across England the rate fell by 11.8 per cent.
