Health: Demands for Welsh disability cash

Health Social Care
A new campaign for disabled children in Wales is calling on the Welsh Assembly Government to invest 21m in services.

The Disabled Children Matter Wales campaign, launched yesterday (25 September), aims to get more money spent on services and to lobby the assembly to ensure families have sufficient services and support.

Keith Bowen, manager of Disabled Children Matter Wales, said the campaign had been set up because it felt initiatives like the children's national service framework have had little impact on the lives of disabled children and their families.

He said that another focus of the campaign will be to encourage local authorities to give additional services for disabled young people as they are setting their budget for the next three years.
