More than 1,000 primary school pupils from across the county took partin workshops, events and activities covering healthy eating, exercise,the food chain and using locally produced ingredients.
Pupils also enjoyed a treasure hunt with a healthy lifestyle theme andcompeted for the top prize of a mountain bike. Alan Charles, DerbyshireCounty Council cabinet member for schools, said: "This gives ourcatering staff the chance to work face-to-face with pupils and staff tohelp promote healthy choices and demonstrate the wide variety of foodsand activities that can help lead to better and happier lifestyles."
