The From Boyhood to Manhood Foundation project is to be expanded into five other London boroughs to help teach young people how to avoid getting caught up in gun crime.
The project will be run in three schools in each of the following boroughs - Haringey, Lambeth, Brent, Hackney and Newham. The aim will be to raise awareness of gun crime through curriculum sessions and access to creative activities with an anti-gun crime theme. The project is finalising funding for the expansion at the moment.
Under the scheme, the foundation staff will develop links with organisations in each borough to provide activities such as training in journalism, graphics and arts, so young people can create anti-gun crime themed posters and flyers for their borough to raise awareness.
