Green paper on youth: Green paper to focus on careers, activities and vulnerable youth

1 min read

The paper, expected within two months, will look at the provision of activities for young people, how to support development and provide careers guidance, and how to help vulnerable or disadvantaged young people.

The Cabinet Office is heavily involved in the development of the green paper and is leading work on the activities strand. The Department for Education and Skills is heading the development and disadvantaged strands.

The Home Office and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport are also involved.

Officials are examining how youth services are delivered and looking at possible ways to improve what is on offer for young people. Their findings are being presented to groups of stakeholders to gauge reactions to proposals and to gather ideas.
