Government: Corporate sponsors of DfES revealed

The fast food chain McDonald's, BT and the software supplier Oracle are just some of the companies that have sponsored the Department for Education and Skills in the past year.

The software supplier Oracle was the biggest sponsor supplying nearly 4m of IT equipment for specialist schools.

BT made the next biggest contribution with a sum of 2.5m to be spent by schools on projects that support the citizenship curriculum. The fast food chain McDonald's gave 5,630 towards 16 to 19 financial support, which helps young people to stay in education.
