Government: Children's posts in Cabinet shake-up

Prime Minister Gordon Brown last week brought in several new faces to head up various policies affecting children.

Former education secretary Alan Johnson is now the health secretary.Jack Straw replaced Lord Charles Falconer as justice secretary, aposition that has overall responsibility for the family courts and a keyrole in youth justice. Jacqui Smith became the new Home Secretary andwill oversee policy on young immigrants and asylum seekers.

Peter Hain will head the Department of Work and Pensions, where ministerCaroline Flint will be overseeing benefits and tax credits for child.Lord McKenzie of Luton will be in charge of child support policy.
