Derbyshire County Council has funded the expansion of local charity Drop Inn’s Safe Rave project in an attempt to tackle underage alcohol abuse and antisocial behaviour.
The council has allocated £25,000 to the organisation to help young people host community events. Qualified members of the project team will train 40 young volunteers in health and safety, DJ skills, alcohol awareness and drug awareness, with the option of taking an Open College Network-accredited qualification.
