A new GPS device will allow parents to identify exactly where their precious loved ones are hanging out at the click of a button. The Spot (Satellite Personal Tracker) looks similar to a walky-talky but uses satellite technology, allowing it to work where some mobile phones don't.
It has a number of functions, including an emergency button that will alert the authorities to the young person's exact whereabouts if they need help and a text option for sending and receiving messages to family and friends.
Parents can also track the young person's progress from the comfort of their own home using Google Maps. Prices start at £140 depending on the services required.
For families who don't want to splash out that amount, there is also the website www.mobilelocators.com, which tracks individual mobile phones. Search costs start at a mere 20p and no special handsets are required. Watch out kids, big mother might be watching.
Not every boy band has to be over 30 and on the comeback trail to make it big these days. Among the young upstarts bucking the trend is Yorkshire quintet One Night Only.
These former school friends have just had their first top five single with Just for Tonight and their debut album Started a Fire was released last month. Not bad considering that some of them were studying for their GCSEs a year ago.
The band's electric guitar sound has led to inevitable comparisons with McFly. They, however, consider themselves to be far more edgy.
