Get With It

It's a common complaint that there's no mainstream TV show that represents young people fairly or that truly sees their point of view.

The bods at BBC Two have taken note and created Revealed, a 15-minute show on Saturday afternoons that looks at youth issues from the teenager's perspective.

In the first episode, twenty-something reporters Charlotte Ashton and Anthony Baxter (pictured) travelled across the UK to find out if young people are as bad as the media says.

In Belfast, they met Clare, 17, who bemoaned the fact that her local park has been closed following complaints that teenagers had been using it as a drinking hang out.

After further interviews with police officers and a leading criminologist, the reporters concluded that young people aren't as bad as the press say - in fact, teenagers are 10 times more likely to be volunteers than become criminals. Further episodes will cover subjects such as family life, sex and school.

Pop duo The Ting Tings knocked Madonna off the top of the singles chart last month with their catchy tune That's Not My Name. The Salford-based act first released the song in May 2007, but it only became a chart success when re-released ahead of their debut album, We Started Nothing. They claim their melodic tunes are "redolent of a thrusting girl band" and "break the codes of manufactured pop".
