Generation of the future: Gordon Brown visits pre-school on UKtour

Gordon Brown chats to children at Barrow Hill Pre-School in St John's Wood, London as part of his tour of the UK outlining his vision for the country's future. Brown last week declared education a "personal passion" and pledged more funding for maths, a review of how numeracy is taught and 300m of funding for a network of youth, sports and arts centres. He also defended the use of tax credits to reduce poverty and suggested teenagers at risk of quitting school should be assigned mentors. Brown was made leader of the Labour Party last week without a single challenger and will therefore take over as Prime Minister from Tony Blair on 27 June.
