In its report Gambling Addiction and its Treatment Within the NHS, theassociation says problem gambling in young people should be taken asseriously as adult problem gambling.
The association suggests a review of whether slot machines should berestricted to those over 18 years old and that there should be educationand prevention programmes targeted at children.
The report shows young people, especially boys, are most likely tobecome addicted to fruit machines. It says: "It is clear that for someadolescents, gambling can cause many negative detrimental effects intheir life."
