One of the UK's largest grant-making trusts is putting children and young people at the heart of its programme this year.

The Lloyds TSB Foundation for England and Wales, which runs a regional grant-making structure operating from nine English regions and Wales, and a grants team for overarching projects that benefit both countries, has focused on children and young people in several of its key priorities.

John Aldridge, regional manager for Greater London, said grants would focus on young people aged 10 to 18 as part of a plan that ends in April 2006. "We're particularly looking at vulnerable youngsters on large housing estates where there's a lack of social or educational activities," he said.
