The new Social Change: Enterprise and Independence programme, which launches this month, replaces the foundation's Social Development programme.
The foundation has tightened funding guidelines to focus on work to support enterprise in disadvantaged communities and boost some of the poorest families' access to financial advice and services.
Funding priorities include work to boost the sustainability of community and voluntary organisations, including those that work with parents and children, through enterprise and trade, and projects that will help people into work.
For more information on the programme call 020 7297 4727. Guidelines for applications are available at www.esmeefairbairn.org.uk.
The foundation expects to make grants totalling 28m in 2005 in four main areas - education, social change, arts and heritage, and environment.
