Funding Watch: Who's getting money and who's giving it - Boost forcommunity childcare

Community childcare projects are among initiatives eligible for funding of up to 40,000 from the latest stage of the Home Office's Adventure Capital Fund.

The fund has been given an extra 5m to invest over the next threeyears to boost the sustainability of community organisations. "There area lot of people working in the community and setting up childcare as acommunity initiative and those are exactly the kind of projects that maybe eligible for funding," said a Home Office spokeswoman.

The fund provides investment packages including loans, funding and somecapital plus advice and mentoring. It encourages organisations to usedifferent types of finance with the long-term aim of moving away fromgrant support.

Community-led organisations that have been operating in England for morethan a year can apply for funding of 20,000 to 40,000.
