Five projects will receive the cash, awarded under the Big LotteryFund's Building Quality Childcare Programme.
The programme is set to award 6m towards the capital costs ofchildcare projects across Northern Ireland.
Newtownards Road Women's Group will use its 90,000 grant toextend existing playgroup rooms and build a covered outdoor play areafor children. Finance and development manager Christine Hagen said thegrant would allow the group to provide a dedicated space for very youngchildren. The organisation also provides training courses for parentsincluding adult literacy, English and IT skills classes.
"This means they can improve their employment prospects and raise theirself confidence, so our work permeates right through families and thecommunity," she added.
