Funding Watch: Vcashpoint

1 min read

What is it? Launched by volunteering charity V's youth advisory board, Vcashpoint offers young people grants to set up and run their own volunteering projects that benefit the community. This year's Vcashpoint has a London 2012 theme, and will fund projects inspired by the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

How much is on offer? Grants of up to £2,500 are up for grabs. The scheme provides young people with the opportunity to come up with their own project ideas and allows them to have total ownership of their project.

What will it fund? Projects that break down social barriers, raise awareness of issues and promote community cohesion are encouraged. Past recipients include DJing workshops for young people in deprived parts of Peterborough, a Youth Against Binge Drinking campaign and a project designed to educate children about the environment.
